Individual Dodgeballer/s

My team is taking a hiatus, but I'd rather not. Is there a tuesday league team that wouldn't mind an individual dodgeballer + his wife (she played in the 3v3 and loved it)? Let me know.

Dodgeball Strategies: Throwing Techniques

How to strike your opponent more consistently.

The lookaway: Don't look at the person you are throwing at. Either do the lookaway off to the side or ceiling. Or look at another player while throwing. Looking off court, might not be a good idea (you might get plastered), so it would probably be good to look at an opponent that has a ball, and throw at a different person

The shinsplinter: I like to aim at the shins. Aiming at the shoes tends to make the ball bounce on the ground before it strikes the opponent. Aiming for the knees tends to make the ball go a little too high sometimes--where the opponent can easily catch it.

The wraparound curveball: I've seen players grip the ball by wrapping their hand and wrist around the ball, and then throwing it for a curve. It can be tricky to master.

The slight curveball: Personally I like to grip the ball a bit on the side to give a slight curve. It's just enough to be deceptive. Although, I have to admit the wraparound curve does give a much nastier curve that is harder to catch.

The Favor Returner: Throw at a person who has just thrown the ball.

The Gedemwhileyerdown: Even better yet, hammer it down at someone who just fell down, and then laugh insanely.

The Raisin: Since these balls are filled with foam, you can squeeze them like a sponge. The rubber gator skin coating enables them to retain their raisin like shape for a few seconds. I've seen many guys squeeze the crap out of the ball and then throw it.

The court is still out on this technique. The unusual shape will enable the ball to knuckle more the air, making it move around unpredictably. In theory that should make it harder to catch. But then the slight unpredictable knuckling movement might make it harder to hit your target.

Personally, I find it easier to catch a raisin ball than a full round ball. I find the raisin ball has more of a handle for me to grab. A full round 8-inch ball is a bit more slippery--therefore harder to catch. Please leave your experiences with throwing and catching raisin balls in the comments below.

The Advanced Raisin: Most people just squish up the ball in any random pattern. But what would happen if you squished the ball a certain way? Think of the many grips a baseball pitcher will use with the seams on a baseball. Perhaps there are ways of denting the ball to make it behave in predicted ways. This is an item that I'm going to be exploring more in the future. If anyone has any advanced raisin techinques, please leave them in the comments below.

banana slingers

i hope your ready this wednesday because orange crush is going to peal all of you apart. We are here to show the banana slingers and everyone else on wednesday how people on tuesday play the game.
you all have no chance
you will see this wednesday the team that will take the title away from you
oohh and boom your just unlucky to have to fall in the middle of this dont be suprised if you dont even beat us in one game
the wednesday league is going to be the easiest season ive been involved in as orange crush we won over 80% of our games on tuesday and i wouldnt be suprised if we win over 90% on wednesday nights

Just so we are on the same page

Just so everyone knows Lucus has decided to move on from the Brusiers and others also have choosen not to return, Liny you will be missed most of all, but now you have your own team as well do i. the Bursiers have revampt and will bring energy to the table. the smack talk is not our style we don't even know if we are going to be good. But the one thing that i am absolutley sure of is that Lucus is just along for the ride.you hang back and sure every now and then you make a good play, that isn't good enough son. i hope that we match up more then once so that i have the pleasure of blasting the ball in to the bluber you call a body. Once again good luck to all and lucus your my boy but your on the wrong side of the line.

sucks for you

now that a new season has arrived and i have the championship belt around my waste i kinda feel bad for people i mean on tuesday night the ballsnatchers and the fake bruisers (im not on that team there hurting my championship name) have to feel my wrath at the fist game of the season dam thats rough
but even worse the entire wednesday leage doesnt even know whats comeing. i mean all the teams that had a good first season and think there good will be in such awe when they see my and the rest of orange crush out on the court dominating im deffinetly thinking this might be a 96-0 season theres absolutely no competition on the wednesday leage but 2 more championships for me yes i think so

this is the moment

This is the year of 2010
This is when i make tuesday night my bitch
Theres a reason were called the bruisers tonight we will show our domination and get ready for playoffs next week
i am the anti-ballsnatcher so i will be taking that title from all of you the playoffs are ours this season i guarentee it
OH an everyone on wed night be prepaired ORANGE CRUSH is reuniting and entering wed night we will show all of you rookies how this great game of dodgeball is played get used to winning because it will end just as a warning you all are about to be ORANGE CRUSHED!!!!!!!

So it needs to be said. We're all adults here. If you get hit, then own it and leave the court. I'm sick and tired of seeing some players not doing a thing because a ref didn't see it. Granted, there are times when you really don't know, and there are times when you disagree and you should absolutely protest within reason. But here's a clue: if you get nailed right on your leg when you're looking at the guy who threw the ball, then you're out and you damn well know it!!! It doesn't matter if a ref saw it or not. What is this acting oblivious crap that I keep seeing? You're taking the fun out of the game. Seriously.

And so it begins...

Another season is upon us... at last! The fall season left a lot to be desired and it's time to correct that. DILF is comin' for each and every one of you!!!
