DILF

Seriously?!?

So it needs to be said. We're all adults here. If you get hit, then own it and leave the court. I'm sick and tired of seeing some players not doing a thing because a ref didn't see it. Granted, there are times when you really don't know, and there are times when you disagree and you should absolutely protest within reason. But here's a clue: if you get nailed right on your leg when you're looking at the guy who threw the ball, then you're out and you damn well know it!!! It doesn't matter if a ref saw it or not. What is this acting oblivious crap that I keep seeing? You're taking the fun out of the game. Seriously.

And so it begins...

Another season is upon us... at last! The fall season left a lot to be desired and it's time to correct that. DILF is comin' for each and every one of you!!!

Team DILF - Painting the Court Red

in

Well going into our match on 11/3 we stood a pretty good chance to move up to the 4th seed going into the playoffs. We were only two wins behind the Ball Snatchers and we had a favorable matchup. Then we find out they went 10-1 earlier in the night. Wow, are you kidding me? So our only shot was to go 12-0 - pretty tall order indeed. As it turns out, 11-1 would've eked us past the Hooligans who moved down after Ball Snatchers took 3rd. But none of that matters now...

We were doing pretty well - I think we were 5-0 at the time when everything changed with the play of Tyler Young of the Lightning Balls. He was the last man standing and he was able to get us down from 5 on 1 (I think) to just me and another of our guys after some strong play. Then I hear "15 seconds!"... we're up 2-1 - do nothing and we get the win, right? But an ill advised attempt to catch Tyler's throw knocks out our other guy and brings us down to mano y mano. "5...4...3..." yells Rich. Knowing we needed the perfect night, a tie meant nothing. So I crank up one of my best throws all season. "2..." Maybe it was a few inches higher than hoped, but otherwise it was exactly the throw I wanted. Strength, location, velocity - it was all there. It was a damn good throw! "1..." And then he caught it. The best I had. Hell of a play without a doubt. Their bench went nuts and I was the first to walk over and shake his hand. He kicked some major ass.

It's games like that one that show what this league is all about. I love seeing the great plays (preferably more on our side than theirs of course), and this one ranks right up there. See you in the playoffs!!!
